PASSION ASIA RALLY

SO WHY DID WE
JOIN A RALLY?????

AND  IT  IS  JUST  PLAIN  FUN!!

Cruisers are fun loving people having a great time letting go after sailing 2,961.6nm from Darwin Australia to Langkawi Malaysia in four months.
WHEW!   It was a long fast haul but we all made it!!!
We could hardly contain our enthusiasm!!!

Overjoyed                         Always ready to party             Ecstatic                           Proud
Ever Vigilant                       Never fools                                Singing Praise

It was party time for all those who defied those confused seas, strong winds, contrary currents, lightening strikes, pirates and sea snakes (never did see those) and an intense social life.

JAN'S  60TH  BIRTHDAY PARTY
Coinciding with the end of the rally, was the party of all parties when cruisers dingied over and tied up to s/v Matariki rafted up with s/v Arnak for a surprise Birthday

Jan  s/v Arnak  is from W.Australia and a real 'Dinki Di Aussie' when it comes to partying

Cutting a cake is not really her specialty so scroll on down

Fredrico s/v Endless Dream played the guitar, Steve dressed for the occasion in his 3/4 Tux with tails and leather tie while Dave s/v Ameonitas played the bongos

Tom and Raina s/v Matariki                                                                            Goeff s/v Arnak

As always Raina and Tom s/v Matariki were the ultimate hosts with fine food and great music and Geoff, Jans partner, makes sure the guests are well cared for.

And so Jan, the fun loving party cruiser, gets everyone involved.

It's her party, 'she can dance if she wants to'.  Everyone is thrilled and in awe at her expertise!

Now this is Jan's expertise

OK, NO WORRIES MATES, THIS IS JUST THE BEST EXERCISE ROUTINE TO DATE
GIVE IT A GO!

Not to miss a beat, Jan engages everyone and celebrates her party with fun and laughter

It was a fantastic way to end the rally with friends and celebrate at the same time.

We ended up enjoying a few last outings before the rally broke up.

The cable car ride up the mountain overlooking the Telaga anchorage and marina, turned out to be a very windy day but it was a thrilling ride up to the platform and suspension bridge built for tourists to promote tourism to the island of Langkawai off the Malaysia coast and our last rally stop.

THE END
PASSION ASIA RALLY
 2007

Telaga was badly damaged in the tsunami a few years ago but today is all built up and in full swing.
There is an anchorage on the outside of the marina with two islands behind, a mooring area inside a break wall and a Mediterranean like area with outdoor cafes and great food and gathering place.

December 1, 2007 was the end of the Passion Asia Malaysia rally in conjunction with the Sail Indonesia Rally.  Our last Gala dinner was held at the Matiaro Hotel & Resort.

Skits and songs were done by the rally participants, Raymond and Dewi our hosts from Sail Indonesia were there along with Sizal and Hardeep of Malaysia and it was a fun night but a sad farewell.
