AUSTRALIA'S
TOP  END

It is over 2400 nautical miles from Brisbane to Darwin along Australia's north east coast in the Coral Sea.  Thanks to information from many cruising friends who had made the trip in previous years, we were fortunate to have a truly amazing time!  We feel the biggest advantage was leaving early in February and taking over 4 months to sail from Brisbane to reach Darwin.

BRISBANE to CAIRNS

The first 2 months we took slow and enjoyed several stops for up to 10 days. Because we were leaving in cyclone season we watched the weather patterns, stayed further south and waited out only three cyclones.

GUESTS ABOARD - WHITSUNDAY'S TO COOKTOWN

The month of April was spent in the Whitsunday Islands and north to Cooktown entertaining guests in some of the most pristine cruising grounds of Australia along the Great Barrier Reef.

ON TOP OF THE TOP END

While keeping an eye out for crocodiles, we sailed the most interesting and desolate coastline with some of the most difficult and terrifying passages.
